All about The Road Home

After another successful donation drive, WISE Home Solutions is still thrilled to be a preferred partner of The Road Home. In addition to our donation drives, WISE Home also gives a portion of each sale to the organization. So, what exactly is The Road Home all about? Here’s everything you need to know about one of our favorite partners.

Services

The Road Home is leader in the Salt Lake valley when it comes to combating homelessness. They provide a variety of services including shelter, donations, and case management. These are just a few of the ways The Road Home assists the local Utah community.

The Road Home manages two shelters: one in Downtown Salt Lake City, and the other in Midvale. This provides emergency housing for those in need. In addition to emergency housing, The Road Home also works to provide permanent housing as well. The permanent housing program is meant to stabilize those who struggle with finding consistent housing.

Part of what we enjoy doing with our partnership is providing donations to The Road Home. Any and all donations are welcome including clothing, hygiene items, and shoes. This directly helps those that come to the shelter. The needs change from season to season, but The Road Home has a wide variety for all people.

After a family or individual has left the shelter, The Road Home provides case management in order to assist them acclimating back into society. Case management services include help in obtaining documents, training, and assistance easing back into the workforce. With this type of help, individuals are more likely to thrive.

WISE Home + The Road Home

Last week, WISE Home Solutions had the opportunity to collect and deliver donations to our local shelter, The Road Home. Since recently partnering with The Road Home, WISE is dedicated to helping and assisting this incredible organization. In addition to donating a portion of our sales, our team found another way we could help out: collecting in-kind donations.

The Process

After visiting The Road Home, we decided WISE needed to assist the shelter as a team. As we sifted through our options of ways we could help, we landed on a donation drive. Our plan was to get everyone in the office to donate, as well as our community. Most people have old clothes or shoes they need to donate, but never find the time to actually drop them off anywhere. So, we decided to help our local neighborhood with some spring cleaning while also assisting our new partner.

As a team, we dropped off flyers and garbage bags door-to-door informing the neighborhood of our plan. We asked the participants to simply fill up the bags with anything they’d like to donate, and we’d be by the next day to pick it up and donate it for them. So, the next day we gathered our team together, and set out to collect donations.

The Results

Overall, we were able to donate 13 full bags to The Road Home. Together with our community, our team was able to fill up a car full of donations and take them straight to the shelter. It was a great team building experience, as well as a wonderful way to give back to our community. WISE Home Solutions appreciates all the help we received, and we are excited to do this all over again. We want to thank those who donated and helped us give back!

Where is the safest city in your state?

WISE Home Solutions proudly serves a variety of states including Utah, Texas, and Arizona. If you live in one of our working states, is your city the safest? We looked into the states we provide home security in, and found the safest city in each one. The answers may surprise you.

Utah

Home of our headquarters, Utah is generally regarded as a safe place. So, what is the safest city in the Beehive State? The answer is Smithfield. This tiny town has a population of 11,146, meaning most of the state of Utah does not live there. On the flip side, Salt Lake City is the most dangerous. If you live in SLC, now may be a good time to start thinking about home security Salt Lake City.

Texas

While crime is on its way down in the Lone Star State, that doesn’t mean it’s completely disappeared. The safest city in Texas is Trophy Club. Another small town, Trophy Club has a population of 12,166. We all know that Texas is huge, so finding the safest city is a little different than smaller states. Surprisingly, the most dangerous city is another tiny town called Bellmead. Clearly, home security Texas is important no matter where you’re located.

Arizona

Just south of our main office, Arizona is known for the heat. When it comes to crime, Arizona ranks 39 out of 50 meaning it’s not as safe as it may seem. The safest city in The Grand Canyon State is Buckeye. With a population of 64,563, this is the largest safe city on our list. On the other hand, the most dangerous city the smallest town on the list, Page, with a population of 7,599.
